International
star of stage and screen, Caroline if one of the few actresses to
have straddled a career both on stage and on film, and is also one
of the few actresses to have been nominated for both the Olivier
Awards for Best Actress in a Musical (Mack and Mabel)
and Best Actress in a Play (Bombshells). On film she made her
debut in Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge and played Ethel Merman
in DeLovely for MGM. Her most recent stage performances
include Velma in Chicago (both originating the role in the
Australian production, and reprising the role on Broadway), a
critically acclaimed star turn in the ENO's On the Town and a
tour de force turn as Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow
which won her The Stage's Best Actress at the Edinburgh Festival,
and an array of awards and accolades.
