About Bill (2010/2011)
by Matthew Strachan & Bernie Gaughan, who wrote Next Door's Baby most recently seen at the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond. This one woman show is actually about one man; Bill. Bill is the thread that connects all the female characters in this one act musical. Some love him, others hate him, but they are all moved by him.  We never meet Bill (perhaps we’re glad about this…) but we feel as if we know him. He infuriates, he charms, he does the decent thing only to negate it with a caddish gesture: he is a true artist, loyal only to himself and his gift. Bill’s gift is his talent for playing the trumpet. He’s a jazz man, transported by his music. He is the boy with a horn. And how.
Scheduled for production in 2010/2011, About Bill promises to be hilarious, touching, and the perfect showcase for the fabulous West End actress Kim Ismay.
